Winemaking and Tasting Notes
Our 'Gradient' range is a limited production wines from small parcels of vineyard in the eastern foothills of Khao Yai National Park. This particular site where Alvarinho is grown is in Wang Nam Khiao district at 600 meters above sea level, resulting in a cooler climate. The terrain is suitable for this sandy soil-loving variety that originates from the west coast of the Iberian Peninsula. Unique in Thailand and grown solely by the GranMonte viticulture team, Alvarinho is also a rare variety in other parts of the world.
The grapes were hand-picked in the cool February nights at 18°Brix for natural acidity and low sugar, typical of this variety and style of wine. Vinified in stainless steel to preserve the aromatics. 2023 Gradient Alvarinho is young, light and crisp. The wine displays aroma or lime, green apple and honeysuckle with refreshing acidity and a bone-dry finish.
From a very limited production, 2023 Gradient Alvarinho is an exciting wine for those who enjoys discovering something different. Best enjoyed young.
