Winemaking and Tasting Notes
The Syrah for this wine was picked from eighteen-year-old blocks of vines on a slope with darker soil
and good drainage. The grapes were hand-harvested at night in the month of February with 23-24°Brix and naturally high acidity, exemplifying the uniqueness of vineyard conditions in tropical Thailand. The Syrah grapes were destemmed and selected with the most advanced grape-sorting technology in Thailand.
This wine is full-bodied and fruit driven, showing arrays of plum, blackcurrant, black pepper, dry spices and licorice. It is round with ripe, mouth-filling tannins, yet balanced with a long lingering finish of vanilla oak undertone, making it pleasurable drinking on its own or with food.
2021 GranMonte Heritage Syrah is crafted to be enjoyed with a few years of cellaring and will improve with age. Drink now-2031.
